TOP TEN FILMS I LOOK FORWARD TO: SUMMER 2015

Now that we are at the cusp of summer movie season, here is my top ten list of summer 2015. These films make the cut buy being released from May 1 - August 31.

JURASSIC WORLD
Of course this was #1. The original is my favorite film of all time. I really look forward to seeing what Spielberg saw in Trevorrow and why he gave him the reigns of this film. The trailers make it seem that the film is trying to give off the same sense of wonder the original did. That's what I look forward to the most.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is something quite like no other... and the sequel to their biggest success should be something quite amazing. Ultron comes off as a much more serious and destructive adversary than they've faced before, and it appears our team may not be complete by the end of the film. With Civil War coming next summer, I'm very curious as to how this pans out.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION
For those that don't already know... Tom Cruise is my favorite actor... get over it. Brad Bird rejuvenated this series with the last installment, and I really look forward to what the writer of The Usual Suspects has in store for it this time.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
I'm not the biggest fan of the original series, it's not that I don't like them, it's just been too long for me to give an opinion. But this film look about as bat-shit insane as I want from a dystopian film, and I'll take it! Plus Charlize Theron with a shaved head is still a 10 in my book.

TOMORROWLAND
Brad Bird doing an original science fiction film about Walt Disney and the future... That's all I know and that's all I need to! I'm in.

STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON
Whoever is in charge of the marketing of this film deserves a raise... I was never interested in the idea of this film, even being a fan of this group, their music, and what they stood for nearly thirty years ago. But after seeing the trailers, and comparing what the film is trying to do with what is happening in our country right now, I can't help but get behind it. Also, Ice Cube's son plays him... how cool is that??!!

ANT-MAN
It's Marvel, so it's on the list, but I think this could be their first misstep. That being said, Paul Rudd as a superhero who can go big or go small, and was originally crafted by and for Edgar Wright... sign me up!

FANTASTIC FOUR
I've never seen a FF film I've liked. But Chronicle (same director) was amazing, and this cast is out of this world... or dimension. Yes there has been liberties taken with this story, but I'm not die hard enough to care. I just think the trailer was cool, if a bit Nolan-esque.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E
Guy Ritchie...'nuff said. Seriously, for those who haven't seen "Revolver" yet, do it. So underrated. So exceptional. This guy can direct butter melting and I'll watch.

THE OVERNIGHT
I read a lot of crazy great things about it after Sundance, and once they released the trailer I realized why. It looks equal parts funny and fucked up enough for me to really want to see it.
